Agency Description
Animal Therapy provide therapy visits to multiple populations including (but not limited to)hospital patient’s, ALF and nursing home residents, Hospice patients, Children and teen dealing with trauma, children with reading difficulties. The unconditional love that the animals provide furnishes comfort and support. The pets often serve as a mechanism for those they visit to open up this mechanism can be utilized by the social worker to further asses’ client needs and plan interventions.
Special Information
The agency is excepting BSW, 1st year MSW for full-time and part-time students. A student will need transportation and liability insurance as specified in the Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare intern regulations. Travel is not reimbursed and no stipend is available. Video and audio taping may be permitted with prior permission. Background check cost is approximately $125 and cost is the responsibility of the student.
