SWAMH offers a wide range of experiences in the rural mental health area.  SWAMH serves a four-county catchment area with a diverse population.  SWAMH serves developmentally delayed infants, mentally retarded, seriously mentally ill, less severe mentally ill and inpatient crisis stabilization.  The center offers outpatient counseling, psychological testing, psychiatric consultation, case management, substance abuse assessments and treatment (intensive outpatient) for male and female clients. Intensive outpatient therapy for gender-specific problems.

Full-time and part-time Final Clinical Placement MSW students.  The student will need transportation to the agency.  Any travel done for the agency on a personal vehicle will not be reimbursed.  Students will be allowed to travel on agency vans.  Students must have their own malpractice insurance.  Video and audio taping would be handled on an individual basis with signed release and agreement by clients.  Our agency's hours are 8:00 am - 9:00 pm Monday - Thursday and 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Friday.  We do not have any public transportation in the area.
