Children's Choice of Delaware is a private, Christian social service agency, providing the following services to children and families in the State of Delaware: Family Foster Care, Family Intervention, Adoption, Post Permanency, ICPC, Independent Living and Kinship services.
Children's Choice contracts with the State of Delaware, Division of Family Services to provide the services identified above. Our agency has been providing services to children and families for over 39 years. We have program locations in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Clients in our programs range in age from birth to adulthood and all are provided services by a Social Worker (or individual with a closely related degree) to ensure that the client is provided with individualized, support services to help them reach their highest potential.
Intern job description:
Intern will provide services under the Permanency and IL Programs.
The Permanency Program provides services to children and families under multiple contracts including child preparation, child specific recruitment, court reports, adoption home studies, Interstate Compact cases, and child specific reports. Post Permanency services are also provided under this program umbrella for caregivers who have achieved permanency and need additional supports. The Independent Living (IL) program provides services to youth who are aged 16 to 23 and will either age out of foster care or be adopted after age 16. Case management is provided to youth to ensure successful transition to adulthood and to ensure that they receive adequate life skills training for self sufficiency.
Intern will participate in case management services, staff meetings, team meetings and community engagement among many other things.
Special placement information:
Accepting MSW 1st-year and MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing (SL + clinical) students. Full- and part-time positions available.
Agency hours: 8:30AM-4:30PM. Some evening hours available. Weekend hours rarely available.
Intern will follow a similar schedule to staff, as agreed upon with supervisor, which is typically face-to-face work two days a week, and remote work 3 days a week. Field work is in person and is expected even on work from home days.
Transportation required. Travel reimbursement available.
