City Schools of Decatur (CSD) is an independent public school district serving all of the children and you within the four square miles of Decatur, Georgia.  CSD has a total enrollment of approximately 5,700 students and operates a total of eleven schools:  One Early Childhood Learning Center, five K-2 lower elementary schools, two 3rd-5th upper elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and one virtual academy.

CSD Mission - Our mission is to work with and inspire students to grow and develop their ability to learn, think, and inquire through meaningful, motivating, and rewarding learning experiences supported by highly qualified, caring adults in a safe, supportive, and inviting environment.  
CSD Social Workers collaborate with school psychologists, teachers, and the entire school community to remove barriers to academic success.  We work with the community agencies to provide tools for students and their families to function and be productive in every phase of school and social life.  Ultimately, school Social Workers ensure that students remain in school to grow academically, emotionally, and socially, and graduate to reach their fullest academic and professional potential.

Intern job description:
The school Social Work intern will provide support services that include, but are not limited to:
Case-management
Crisis Intervention
Potential risk assessments
Parent conferences/consultations
Multidisciplinary school level team consultations
Resource procurement and referral
Interagency collaboration/consultation
Staff development trainings
Brief-solution focused interventions with students and families

Special placement information:
Accepting MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing students.
Transportation to and from agency required. Travel reimbursement not available. Agency accessible by public transit.
Agency hours: 8:00AM-4:30PM, Monday-Friday. 
Stipend not available.
Student should have liability insurance.
Video-/Audio-taping not permitted.
Masks are required. COVID-19 vaccination required.
Student must pass fingerprinting background check (at no cost to the student, covered by agency).
