Dismas Charities gives those released from state and federal incarceration the skills and motivation to re-enter society as contributing members. The work of Dismas is to end the cycle of victimization and to heal the human spirit by providing services in the areas of employment, housing, substance misuse, education, family, Mental Health, and physical health.
Special placement information:
Accepting BSW and MSW 1st-year students. Full- and part-time positions available.
All students are screened by the internship coordinator and center director before having their application submitted to the Federal Bureau of Prisons for a background check and placement approval.
Travel outside the center is normally not required unless the student participates in a community project. Agency accessible by public transit.
Students should have liability insurance.
Video-/Audio-taping not permitted.
Agency hours: 24/7. Weekend and evening hours available.
Students conduct psychosocial assessments, group, and individual sessions.
