Equuvation, a nonprofit nature-based therapy and education center in North Carolina, was developed to be the catalyst innovative programs, professional service delivery, and agency collaboration in any field of activity leveraging the horse-human connection. Based out of Rocky Creek Ranch, a
naturally-rich equestrian property, Equuvation has created a safe and thoughtful space for children, teens and adults to seek healing, respite, inspiration and education.
Equuvation offers equine-facilitated psychotherapy and nature-based talk therapy for individuals and groups (in addition to other experiential learning—non-clinical—services and programs). Our clients include children, teens and adults of all ages 3+. Our mission prioritizes services for those who have been impacted by trauma, abuse or chronic illness; those who have disabilities and those who are experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, and Autism. We also provide integrative services for the families and caregivers of our clients, and leadership programs for corporations.
Through the mindful development of our facility, both people and animals are able to find sanctuary here. Horse and animal care practices are dedicated to the lifetime emotional and physical needs of the animals chosen to be partners in this work; and National Wildlife Federation Sanctuary status defines the farm as a safe space for all wildlife. As a “sensory friendly” facility, disruptive noises and distractions are kept to a minimum during sessions, and the organization is led by a team who is ethical, compassionate and open-minded.

Special Placement Information:

Agency is accepting is BSW Full-time, MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing Clinical Students, (Clinical) Part-time BSW, Part-time MSW.  Our facility requires individual transportation, as we are not located near public transport routes. At this time, stipends are determined on an individual basis.  Our business (client) hours are: Mon-Thurs, 10:00am to 6:30p; Fri 10:00am-4:00pm and Sat 10:00am-1:00p.m. However, our support staff is on-site starting at 7:30am on a daily basis.  Photography and videography is permitted with permission from clients directly.
