Families First is a community based social service agency that has been serving residents of Palm Beach County for over 32 years. The agency started off as a case management organization providing services to infants and toddlers and their families. From its inception in 1990, the agency has grown and now has seven programs including Behavioral Health Services, housing, outreach and prevention for women of childbearing age and pregnant women, services to relative caregivers, treating childhood trauma, and strengthening families and preventing child abuse and neglect through its largest program, the Healthy Families program. We currently serve children from birth to 22 and their families. We also work with women who are is expecting a child and who are requiring support in order to have healthy births. We work in communities throughout Palm Beach County and also have Co-located mental health therapists in seven schools in Palm Beach County.
Special Placement Information:
The Agency is accepting MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing Clinical Students, (Clinical), Part-time MSW. Students who are accepted by the agency will be required to undergo and pass a level 2 background check. Payment for this background screening will be initially incurred by the student but reimbursement is provided to the student for this background check once they start their placement. Travel reimbursement is also provided to the student if they are too travel beyond they're identified location. There are no stipends provided by the agency to the student while they are in placement.
