The Florida Department of Children and Families is committed to promoting the well-being of children and their families. Our responsibilities span a broad range of services, including support for families working to remain safely together or achieve reunification, foster care, services for youth and young adults (ages 18-22) transitioning from foster care to independence, and adoption. The statewide Office of Child Welfare, in collaboration with regional Family Safety Program offices, partners with local communities, courts, and tribes to ensure the safety, timely permanency, and overall well-being of children.

Special Placement Information:

The Agency is accepting BSW Full-time, MSW 1st year students, Part-time BSW, and Part-time MSW.  DCF has normal business hours of 8:00-5:00 Monday-Friday, with on-call for immediate reports from 5:00 PM until 8:00 AM Monday-Friday. Weekend on call is 24 hours, Saturday and Sunday. Students would have the opportunity to work on Saturday or Sunday if necessary. Travel is reimbursed at the 44.5 per mile rate. The student would not be allowed to transport clients in their vehicle. There is no availability for video or audio taping due to the confidentiality of customers. Public transportation would be dependent on the area/service center the student chose.
