What is International Association of Trauma and addiction Counselors (IATAC)? International Association of Trauma and addiction Counselors (IATAC) is a freestanding outpatient Behavioral Health program, which uses a multidisciplinary approach to safely treat the mind, body, and spirit. Patients are prescreened for criteria and admitted voluntarily.
Patients are assessed to ensure that they are properly stabilized from the physical and psychological effects of mental health and substance abuse use disorders. It has been the dream of our director to build a program that provides progressive and effective treatment, encompassing wrap around services that will provide clients with the necessary tools that will help them enjoy a healthy, safe and sober life. Many addicts and alcoholics engage in self-destructive behaviors that perpetuate their using and drinking. Through, a variety of therapeutic approaches and methods, our therapist help client's let go of unhealthy behaviors and negative thought patterns and teach them how to practice healthy coping skills. We work with our clients to diminish feelings of guilt and shame and promote a sense of self -spa-like environment. The program is structured such, that there is no free time or ability for patients to wander from the building. Only pre-screened and admitted patients are allowed within the premises. All patients are brought to the Center by staff, where upon mTival, they are screened in a secure room. Walk-in patients are neither accepted nor marketed.  After entering the program, and while under general observation to ensure their comfort, patients may participate in supportive counseling and other activities no different than persons who may attend group and/or individual therapy counseling sessions.
