LaAmistad's mission is to support Latino students and their families by providing comprehensive support through tutoring, monitoring, and resources that promote academic, physical, and personal growth.  Our hope at LaAmistad is to provide support for students and their families.  The social work role at LaAmistad is a mix of providing resources, therapy, and coaching.  We provide opportunities for social work students to lead support or therapeutic groups (depending on educational level).  Typically FSU social work interns will be working with Latino students who are 6-16 years old.  If the student is fluent in Spanish they will have opportunities to work with the parents.  It is a benefit if the FSU students can speak Spanish it is not a requirement.

Full-time positions available for BSW, MSW 1st Yr Students & MSW 2nd Yr Advanced Standing Students; clinical.  Part-time positions available also for BSW & MSW students.  We prefer students to have reliable transportation so they can go between LaAmistad locations.  The students will not be reimbursed for travel.  However, the students will not be required to travel more than 3 or miles.  Typically they will be headquartered at our 3434 Roswell Road location. LaAmistad does not provide a stipend for interns.  Students will be required to be at LaAmistad locations from 2:30-6pm Monday-Thursday.  The other required hours are flexible.  There are often activities on the weekends that students will be able to attend if they would like to put in weekend hours.  Students will not be required to do hours on weekends.
