Metropolitan Ministries is a non-profit organization in Tampa, FL. Metropolitan Ministries is an agency that cares for the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless. We serve all age ranges of clients through our several different programs that are offered. As a social-service agency we are working to help our families and clients alleviate suffering. promote dignity and instill self­ sufficiency. Our Social workers assist our families through various capacities such as case management. intake assessments, providing mobile outreach. identifying barriers to gain self sufficiency and help take care of their needs as a whole.
The Case Management Intern will assist with the daily functions of intake and administer assessments as assigned by the Senior Intake Specialist or site supervisor. The Case Management Intern       will assist clients in        completing        the        intake        process and providing documentation    that    is    needed     through     follow     ups. Interns     will also assess client's eligibility for other programs. resources. and shelter. Interns will also have the opportunity to learn about other Metropolitan Ministries Programs and be able to shadow and gain knowledge of these departments.

Special Placement Information:

BSW Full-time, MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing, Part-time BSW, Part-time MSW. A student will need their own transportation and if they do use their personal vehicle for work travel. mileage will be reimbursed. This is an un-paid internship. Students do not need liability insurance. no video or audio taping is permitted. Metropolitan is open from 9-5 Monday-Friday. On a case by case scenario. it can be discussed for a few additional hours later in the evening if needed. The agency is accessible by bus.
