Child Protection intervention is twofold. The first priority is to keep children safe and the second is to offer services when a case is initiated to address concerns that may be causing the immediate concern. This philosophy of early prevention and intervention with children, youth, and families has
led to a decrease in foster care placement of children, a decrease in days that children and youth spending out of home placement, and the building of collaborative partnerships with community resources to address the needs of high-risk families. Clients will rare from infants to adults. Protect children from situations of abuse, neglect and other forms of maltreatment. Ensuring the social, physical, psychological and emotional well-being of clients. Conduct home visits to investigate allegations of abuse or neglect, provide assessments to determine whether a parent or guardian is fit to provide care, evaluate whether a child should be temporarily or permanently removed from their living situation and place children with foster care or kinship families. Complete extensive documentation, maintain case files and perform other types of administrative tasks. Develop treatment plans and social histories.

Special placement information:

The Agency is accepting BSW Full-time, MSW 1st year students, BSW Full-time, MSW 1st year student, MSW 2nd year and Advanced Students, Part-time BSW, Part-time MSW.  Work hours are Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM. Evening hours may be allowed depending on the availability of the clients. Abby will have the opportunity to utilized Montrose County vehicle when conducting business related tasks.
