We provide over 180 programs and services focused on the interests and needs of older adults, age 55+, in the Tallahassee- Leon County area. Although our target audience is age 55+, anyone over 18 is eligible to participate participants must be able to function independently or provide their own car provider. Activities include recreational, educational, lifelong learning, art, fitness, and more. Services include counseling, information and referral assistance, support groups, various assistance services and more. We are in 15 county sites, staff participate on various local, state, and national committees and boards which include advocacy.
Special Placement Information:
The agency is accepting BSW Full-time, MSW 1st year students in Social Leadership. Hours will generally be during regular business hours however; we do have a lot of special events in the evenings and Saturdays providing for opportunities outside regular business hours on occasion. We do not offer a stipend. We have a lot of off-site programming so there may be occasions that it is more convenient for the student to drive, however never required if she/he did drive, travel reimbursements would be provided.
