Youth Villages Intercept program provides intensive in-home counseling. Family Intervention Specialists (FIS) with an average caseload of four, meet with families an average of three times a week and more if necessary. Sessions are held in the community and often involve natural supports, family members, employers, school staff, etc. The intercept program works in all areas of a child’s life: the individual child, the family, the community, the school and peers. FIS work with families to stabilize children in the home for those at risk of removal or help children reunify with their families if they have been placed out of the home.
Special Placement Information
BSW full time, MSW 1st year students, MSW (2nd year and advanced Standing students) Part-time BSW, Part-time MSW. Interns will be using their own vehicles to travel throughout the community; agency hours are flexible but typically between the hours of 8:00 am-6:00 pm.
