River Garden is a skilled nursing facility serving as a long-term facility for a general population over 65 and a short-term rehabilitation population of varying ages.  This is a Jewish facility, but all races, religions, and ethnic backgrounds are welcome.  The population is 65% Medicaid.  Social Services in this setting serves as the liaison between families, staff, and residents.  They communicate any changes in conditions and set up care conference.  The short-term rehab worker is involved in discharge planning.  Social Services serves as the Abuse Designee to invest any allegations and oversee the grievance brought forward by residents.

Special Information: 

BSW, MSW 1st year, MSW 2nd year clinical and SPA, full-time/part-time.  All services take place in the building, but the therapy team performs some home visits with short-term rehabilitation residents; students will travel with a staff therapist; permission for audio/video taping must be obtained from residents, staff, and family; nostipend; lunch is provided; hours are 7:30-4:30 M-F; facility is on bus route; liability insurance is not provided by the agency.
