In operation since 1994, Caring and Sharing of South Walton provides crisis relief to our neighbors in need through financial assistance, food, counseling, and case management. We primarily serve residents of Walton County and are an intake point for the Homeless and Housing Alliance’s One Way Home program. As the only USDA food pantry in Walton County to between 80 and 120 households a month. We also operate a thrift store, which is open to the public, but also provides clothing and furniture assistance to our clients through our voucher program. Our core values center around providing a safe environment, serving with excellence, and partnering for change. Our clients are primarily adults, but nearly half of the households we serve include children. Our clients represent a diversity of ages, races, ethnicities, nationalities, abilities, gender identities, religions, and socio-economic and educational backgrounds. Our case managers both have social work degrees (BSW and MSW) and use their training to assess client needs, empower clients to pursue their goals and utilize community resources, make referrals, and advocate for more equitable access to resources and opportunities for our clients in community settings.
