Faculty takes on new leadership roles

In 2015, three faculty members will take on new leadership roles within the College of Social Work.

Starting this past January, Dr. Craig Stanley took on the role and responsibilities of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Dr. Stanley previously served as the MSW Program Director since 2009 overseeing the program through tremendous changes including the growth of the advanced-standing online MSW program and the addition of a traditional online MSW program . Dr. Stanley also recently completed his doctoral degree in 2014 in higher education from the FSU College of Education. In his new role, he oversees all academic programs within the FSU College of Social Work as well as student affairs and services.

Dr. Stephen Tripodi will assume the role of Doctoral Program Director starting in the summer semester of 2015. He will manage the operations of the College’s doctoral program including: doctoral program admissions, recruiting, current doctoral students, and curriculum. Dr. Tripodi is an Associate Professor with a research focus on corrections and criminal justice in social work in general, and women prisoners’ experiences of victimization, in particular.

Ms. Fran Gomory, MSW will take on the role of MSW Program Director starting in the summer semester. Prior to this role, she oversaw the MSW program’s Social Policy and Administration track and provided guidance to its students since 2007. As the director for the MSW program, she will oversee all MSW programs. Ms. Gomory is an active Associate Teaching Professor within the College of Social Work with a particular interest in cultural diversity, group work, women’s issues, and social work administration and practice.
