Baldomero Lopez is a 120 bed Medicare-Medicaid Skilled Nursing Home owned and operated by the State of Florida Dept of Veteran Affairs. We serve "honorably" discharged veterans in need of Nursing Home Care. Half of the Home is a Secure Alzheimer's Unit. Because of our long waiting list for admission we only serve long term placements. Our residents are 95% males age range 60-95.

Special Information

BSW, MSW (1st year and 2nd year clinical) students.  Social Services at BLSVNH operates 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, The student needs to transport self to and from our location which is rural and no bus service available. Due to HIPPA- video/audio taping is not permitted unless resident/family given written consent and its approved by FDVA. State of Florida does not provide stipends for students. Liability insurance is recommended.
