Social Work Internship
The MDC provides social work internships for graduate students majoring in Social Work. Internship includes supervised training in psychosocial assessments with parents and guardians of clients referred for diagnostic assessment, administration of Adaptive Behavior Scales, school-based mental health services with children and adolescents, classroom observations, case management, and participation in multidisciplinary diagnostic team. For mental health counseling, interns are assigned clients for both individual and group treatment in surrounding school districts. They also attend weekly group supervision, participate in regular client evaluations and are responsible for all professional record-keeping required as counselors. Internships are typically full time for one semester for either Fall or Spring semester.
Two semester part-time internships are also available, beginning Fall semester only. Placement hours are completed at both the Center and school districts in our service area.
The Louise R. Goldhagen Multidisciplinary Evaluation and Consulting Center is an equal opportunity university-based training program committed to diversity and inclusion in all of its educational and training activities. We welcome and strongly encourage applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of race, creed, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, veteran’s or marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or any other protected group status.
Stipends are not available at this time but mileage for required travel to school districts is reimbursed. Fees for required fingerprinting and background screening are reimbursed.
