Information

The Advocates for Veteran Housing (AVH) is a housing program within the Big
Bend Homeless Coalition (BBHC) that specializes in addressing an array of homelessness issues and barriers regarding veterans and their families.  Through a national grant program.  AVH uses an evidence-based approach known as Rapid Re-Housing Model the provides funding to quickly stabilize client household that is either experiencing homelessness or is in danger of entering homelessness.   AVH incorporates a community partnership team approach, working with landlords and a myriad of community partners including employment specialists, mental health providers, the Department of Veteran Affairs, and other social service agencies in the Big Bend Area. Together we work in assisting the client with a successful transitional path towards securing and maintaining permanent sustainable housing.  Case managers routinely travel to meet with clients, in their homes or where they are staying, to provide emotional support and assure clients are actively completing all oath their mutually identified goals and objectives directly correlated with third housing stabilization.  See ether BBHC webpage for further info.
