The faculty and staff of the Children's Learning Clinic (CLC) are nationally recognized experts in neurocognitive brain abilities, pediatric ADHD, and child attention, behavior, emotions, and social skills. As a community-based, university-affiliated clinic, the CLC provides no cost evaluations and evidence-based treatments to children ages 8-12 in the city of Tallahassee and its surrounding areas with suspected attention, learning, or behavioral difficulties. The CLC also accepts children without behavioral or academic difficulties whose parents are interested in learning more about their child's unique sets of strengths and difficulties. As a research clinic, we provide families with today's gold standard of care while families provide us with the data to develop tomorrow's gold standard of care. To date, our team has provided services to thousands of children and families and has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific studies on ADHD and related difficulties. Social work interns within the CLC have the opportunity for hands-on experience working with children with a broad range of strengths and challenges, as well as learn valuable evidence-informed, assessment skills to assist in their development as knowledgeable and effective practitioners. Interns also have the opportunity to learn and implement evidence-based treatments for children with ADHD and related difficulties.
