Pace is a safe and supportive academic and wrap around social services model for girls, ages 11-17, that helps girls overcome challenges and prepare for their future. We focus on social and emotional wellbeing and academic success, to find the great in every girl. Pace Center for Girls, Inc. provides girls and young women an opportunity for a better future through education, counseling, training and advocacy. Pace values all girls and young women, believing each one deserves an opportunity to find her voice, achieve her potential and celebrate a life defined by responsibility, dignity, serenity, and grace. Pace Center for Girls, Inc. is a nationally recognized, non-profit agency that focuses on the social service and educational needs of at-promise girls. Pace is an important prevention, diversion and early intervention model specifically responsive to the needs of girls and is recognized among the most effective programs in the country for keeping girls out of the juvenile justice system The Foundational Pillars guide our thinking and actions with girls, families, team members, and schools and are at the heart of our work. Gender-Responsive: It is essential to understand and respond to the unique needs of girls. We understand how girls learn and develop, as well as the important role of relationships in a girl’s life. Interventions are utilized that have been proven successful for at-risk girls. Pace utilizes the Transtheoretical Model of Behavior Change to understand how change occurs and to ensure that therapists respond with appropriately matched interventions. Research shows that girls go through a series of stages when modifying behavior. Assessing the stage of change for each girl is an essential on-going process, so that programming and interventions can be individualized appropriately according to the stage of change.
