The TMH Memory Disorder Clinic serves patients with neurological disorders and their families. The clinic is housed within the TMH Physician Partners: Neurology clinic. The work is primarily with those affected by memory disorders such as mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, and other forms of dementia. The social workers provide psychosocial assessments as part of a multi-disciplinary diagnosis, facilitate groups, locate resources, and perform supportive counseling. There are also opportunities to conduct community outreach, create presentations, and assist with research and grant projects. Social work interns will be given the opportunity to shadow other departments when possible.

The clinic currently assists with a special grant project regarding food security where social work interns will provide one-on-one educational sessions with clients.

Special Information:

This agency accepts BSW and MSW 1st year students. Full-time and Part-time placement available. Students must complete hospital orientation which includes TB test, drug screen, and fingerprints. Background check cost is approximately $125 and cost is the responsibility of the student. Most work is done at the clinic with several opportunities to attend community outreach events. Clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. The hospital is on a bus route.
