FSU Film Event Addresses the Concerns of Domestic Violence

Florida State University will present the 2019 film, No Ordinary Love on Wednesday, February 21, 2023, to raise awareness about the dynamics and impact of domestic violence. The Domestic Violence Coordinating Council (DVCC) led the collaborative event in partnership with the Institute for Family Violence Studies at the FSU College of Social Work.

Graduate Becomes School Social Work Association of America President

She is the first African American President of the organization in its history. She is well-known for her dedication to the social work profession, particularly in the school setting.

The Importance of Involving Libraries in Opioid Epidemic Response

Recent Graduate Makes a Difference with Local Crisis Intervention Organization

Even as a freshman at Florida State, Dylan McMahon was interested in being a counselor and working with adolescents on suicide prevention. Initially, a psychology major, a class presentation on volunteer opportunities with 2-1-1 Big Bend (2-1-1), a local crisis intervention and prevention organization, sparked his interest.

Graduate Reappointed as Secretary of Florida Department of Children and Families

Celebrating Black History Month

In February 1926, Dr. Carter G. Woodson instituted the first weeklong celebration to educate and raise awareness about Black/African Americans’ contributions to American history. Prior to this time, very little information could be found regarding Black/African American history and important achievements were left out of history books.

Graduate Receives One of Central Connecticut State University’s Highest Honors

Simply Healthcare is First to Earn Florida State University's Organizational Certification in Trauma Awareness
