Empowering Foster Youth through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Trauma

Youth in foster care often face higher exposure to traumatic events and are less likely to receive the necessary services to address the resulting trauma-related symptoms. This discrepancy leads to a range of mental health challenges that, if left untreated, can manifest into more complex issues, such as substance misuse and delinquency.

FSU Organizational Certification in Trauma Awareness Earned by Sunshine Health

Doctoral Graduate Addresses Maternal Child Health at Florida State Through Research

Providing Support at the Individual and Community Level at Brehon Family Services

Brehon Family Services (Brehon), a nonprofit organization in the Big Bend area of Florida, has provided support services to woman and children since 1978. The organization has impacted thousands of lives in the region and supported more than 600 women and children at the Brehon House, a residential housing program for women experiencing homelessness.

Fall 2023: By the Numbers

The Fall 2023 semester officially began on Monday, August 28th. Yet, impending Hurricane Idalia quickly created other plans for the University, with closure starting midday Tuesday in preparation for the storm’s arrival.
While Tallahassee was relatively fortunate, we recognize that the experiences of our neighbors in the greater Big Bend community vastly differed, including the communities of many CSW students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
