CSW Ambassadors: Our Newest Social Work Student Leaders

Since the creation of the FSU College of Social Work Ambassador Program, the program has seen some tremendous growth. This year, the program welcomes nineteen social work leaders in all the College’s undergraduate (BSW) and graduate programs (MSW, Ph.D.). As a CSW Ambassador, these students serve as the face of the college and serve in multiple roles throughout the year.
These students work actively with faculty and staff to represent the values and mission of the College of Social Work and the profession.

FSU Social Work Visits Hungary for International Conference on the Professionalization of Social Work

Upcoming Lecture Series Addresses the Hidden Crime of Stalking

On Wednesday, November 28th, the Center for the Study and Promotion of Communities, Families, and Children (CFC) is hosting a presentation Dr. TK Logan from the University of Kentucky entitled: “Assessing and Addressing the Hidden Crime of Stalking. The presentation is the second lecture in the CFC’s inaugural research lecture 2018-2019 series, Engage, Invest, Respond. The presentation will take place at the FSU Alumni Association (1030 W. Tennessee Street) from 3 until 4:30 p.m., followed by a reception.

College of Social Work Celebrates Distinguished Graduates and Scholarship Recipients

The highly anticipated event each year celebrates the contributions of students, alumni and donors to the College of Social Work, social work education and profession.

College of Social Work Partners to Bring AVA Global Health Summit to FSU

The Academy on Violence and Abuse (AVA) and the Florida State University College of Social Work are teaming up to bring a global summit addressing violence treatment and prevention across the lifespan. November 29 and 30 we will have speakers from all over the world as far as South Africa and China addressing the most recent research and practice involving those who have experienced maltreatment.

Raise the Torch: College of Social Work's Development Report

Florida State University announced the successful completion of the most ambitious fundraising campaign in university history.
Florida State launched Raise the Torch: The Campaign for Florida State in July 2010 with a goal of raising $1 billion. FSU reached and exceeded that lofty goal with $1,158,665,865 in gifts and pledges received from donors and supporters upon the campaign’s official closing June 30, 2018.

Institute for Family Violence Studies partners on March to End the Silence

At the 2018 Child Protection Summit in September, the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) honored award recipients, including this year’s Child Welfare Champion Award to FSU College of Social Work Alumna Lisa Jackson.
